Hazel Scott, a child prodigy on the piano was recognized by Julliard School of Music in NYC at the age of 8 was born today in 1920.! She was huge in her time. Ms Scott was part of Cafe Society (NYC nightclub opened by Barney Josephson for the sole purpose of showcasing Black artists..first integrated night club in U.S. Barney Josephson also led a fascinating life that people should know about and read about.) Hazel Scott was married to another newsworthy person, Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. For anyone not familiar with Hazel Scott, Barney Josephson, Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., the years of Cafe Society, then go to the library and take out books. These are people you should know about. They made a difference for many, many reasons!!!
