“Music can change the world because it can change people.”-Bono

For Wise Wednesday, I’d like to celebrate the birthday of Judy Collins, born May 1st, 1939.  I’ve seen her several times and she just gets better and better. Bono’s quote rings true to me, a child of the 60s, where we got out there and used songs to enlighten the world to what was going on; think of the Civil Rights songs, anti-war songs, anti-nuke songs, Marvin Gaye’s What’s Goin’ On?  Happy Birthday Judy Collins, whose life and heart have known deep, deep sorrow, but carries on, sings, and teaches us that, “It is true that I have had heartache and tragedy in my life. These are things none of us avoids. Suffering is the price of being alive.”-Judy Collins
