DON’T Wait Until the Midnight Hour…

What memories “In  the Midnight Hour” can stir within! Today is the birthday of singer/songwriter Wilson Pickett who would’ve been 82 today.  Wilson Pickett had a difficult childhood, grew up during the height of racism, endured the unfair practices of the recording industry and fought his inner demons.  His distinctive voice and style is incomparable and he left us a legacy of music that left its mark on my generation and inspired young musicians and singers around the world to pursue their dreams of making music despite this crazy world of entertainment. When asked about his voice, Wilson Pickett once said, “I used to always have a pretty high, little clear voice, but as I got older, I got a little cornbread in it.”
