One Real Life Reason to Celebrate

I’ve Got Nothing to Do Today but Smile.” –Simon and Garfunkel

Being up and reading this could be YOUR one real life reason to celebrate today!  There are many psychological benefits to smiling even if you don’t feel like it. Fake it at first (if you have to), but just move those lips and that mouth into a smile formation. Look in the mirror as you smile at yourself.

According to Dr. Mark Stibich, smiling:

  • Boosts the immune system
  • Increases positive affect
  • Reduces stress
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Enhances other people’s perception of you”

My son is 28 years old today, so that is MY One Real Life Reason to Celebrate today!  I know it is cliche to say this, but it’s true:  the years have truly flown by!  He’s following his own path; inspiring others; has a huge heart and is very affectionate and loving towards his parents; is a productive member of society and plans on contributing his talents worldwide; has a wonderful girlfriend; believes he can accomplish anything; is in excellent health and is very, very happy. What more could a mother want?
